Unga Deliberate Global Accelerator On Jobs and Social Protection
President Lazarus Chakwera says his last two events on Tuesday’s itinerary pronounced overlapping significance in the mission to create decent and sustainable jobs for the predominantly youthful population.
“In my meeting with International Labour Organisation (ILO) Director General, Mr. Gilbert Houngbo, I called for sustained support to Malawi as we explore better job creation strategies and harmonisation of social protection programmes within post-Cyclone Freddy economic recovery,” Chakwera said.
He further stated that afterwards, he attended the Global Accelerator on Jobs and Social Protection for Just Transitions event. We have strengthened the network Malawi has with the global community in implementing a roadmap that focuses on economic diversification, increased job opportunities and enhanced social protection.
