Dausi Gets DPP Convention, Chairmanship Mantle

Mwanza Central lawmaker who is the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP)’s Publicity Secretary, Nicholas Dausi has been elected chairperson of the party’s forthcoming elective convention.

Inside sources at the party’s National Governing Council-NGC meeting in Lilongwe have confirmed the development.

The meeting has also elected another NGC member, Battery Kita to deputize Dausi.

As we went to press the DPP NGC members were yet to agree on the specific day for the long-awaited convention.

On 29th, September this year the High Court sitting in its chambers in the capital city, Lilongwe ordered the DPP to hold an elective convention within 90 days from the day of the determination.

Meanwhile, speaking from parliament DPP Spokesperson, Shadreck Namalomba says members who attended the NGC meeting in Lilongwe violated the Party constitution hence will face consequences following their misconduct.
