Grand Palace International Volleyball Tourney Preps Begins

Organisers of the Grand Palace International Volleyball Tournament have announced the return of the competition this year with the formation of a main and sub-committees to oversee preparations of the event.

Previously, known as the Mzuzu International Volleyball Championship the competition did not take place last year due to the devastating effects of COVID-19 which necessitated travel bans and irrelevant gatherings in prevention of the novel pandemic.

Announcing the return of the event this year the chairperson and former Chief Executive Officer of the Mzuzu International Volleyball Tournament, Killy Msukwa on Thursday announced the recruitment of two administrators to help in bringing new approaches in planning for this year’s event.

A seasoned volleyball pioneer, Ambilike Mwaungulu from the Southern Region Volleyball League (SRVL) and Violet Maganga from the Central Region Volleyball League (CRVL) qualified the criteria to be considered for their administrative roles due to their strategic geographical residential areas, dedication and marketing dynamics of the game.

“Among the two, it has pleased the organising team to recruit Violet Maganga to be our Public Relations Officer with immediate effect,” reads a letter addressed to this publication.

The communique further described the publicist as a team worker, dedicated, progressive, high levels of self esteem and passionate about the game of Volleyball.

Apart from the two newly recruited officials the International Volleyball championship will continue accessing the services of other renowned volleyball enthusiasts who have worked for some time in different capacities towards the development of the sport.

The Grand Palace International Volleyball Tournament is one of the perfectly executed Championships involving teams from Zone Five and Six of the African continent annually hosted in the City of Mzuzu.
