Department Of Immigration Clarifies Authenticity Of Malawi Passport
Government, through the Department of Immigration and Citizenship has categorically refuted social media rumours that Malawi Passport is being rejected at some airports.
In a press release signed by the Immigration’s National Public Relations Officer, Wellington Chiponde emphasized the accuracy and security of Malawi’s passport issuance process which he says remains a valid travel document and is accepted at all international airports around the world as prescribed by the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO).
The Department of Immigration and Citizenship also condemns in strongest terms those spreading false and malicious information that may cause panic and confusion among Malawian citizens to desist from the punishable acts.
“The Passport printing being provided by the Department in Lilongwe include; the issuance of ordinary, Minor, Service and Diplomatic Passports, all of which are recognised and accepted in every country across the globe,” reads part of the press release.
The press release further states that the Department of Immigration and Citizenship remains committed to ensuring the safety and security of Malawian citizens traveling abroad, and continues to work in collaboration with international partners to uphold the integrity of the Malawi Passport.
