Alliance for a Green Revolution in Africa (AGRA), a Pan African alliance focused on empowerment of farming communities across the continent, has given Malawi US$45 million to promote agricultural productivity and improve soil health.

This comes at a time when Malawi is in the process of restoring its soil nutrition which has been depleted for decades. As such, the mechanisms we have put in place for soil management need financing like the one we have received from AGRA.

Posting on his LinkedIn profile, President Lazarus Macathy Chakwera said, “I was privileged to meet AGRA Chairperson, Hailemariam Dessalegn Boshe, who has committed the alliance’s sustained support towards sustainable farming in addressing soil degradation as well as deforestation.”
