MCP Poaches Rumphi-Tchalo Mlowe Ward Councilor
In its effort to grow in all regions of the country, the Malawi Congress Party (MCP) family continues working at all levels by making significant gains in catching influential persons who are continuing joining the party.
On Tuesday, 25th October 2022, the Minister of Transport and Public Works Hon Jacob Hara, welcomed into the party Councillor Galatia of Tchalo Mlowe Ward in Rumphi East.
Galatia is said to be an influential person in his ward having won first in 2014 on DPP ticket and he retained his seat in 2019 as independent.
Speaking to the Malawi Daily Telegraph after a series of development rallies in the northern region the Transport minister said the MCP is ever yearning for more entrants in order to sustain dominance in the competitive political arena.
“It is very simple, the MCP is ever yearning for more entrants in order to sustain dominance in the competitive political arena, people are aligning themselves with policies that will transform their lives,” Hara said.
Chairperson for the North-North region of the MCP, Chidumba Mkandawire hailed the minister (Hara) and the party president, Lazarus Chakwera for encouraging the party’s open door policy whose objective is to develop the country
