Malawian Woman Wins Africa’s Business Diversification of The Year Award

A Malawian agribusiness woman based in Karonga district, Victoria Mwafulirwa has won this year’s African Business Diversification of the year award.

It took the value addition nutrition expert to travel all the way to Accra, Ghana where she was decorated during the African themed ‘glitz and glamour women in Agribusiness’ red carpet event.

Mwafulirwa who is a fully trained journalist utilized her extensive travel during her media stint with CITR 101.9FM and Discorder Magazine among others to venture into nutrition, trading under the banner ‘Homes Industries Limited’ growing and processing rice, sunflower and groundnuts.

Writing on her Facebook page Mwafulirwa only described the 4th November 2022 as memorable and very special having an audience with the former Ghanaian president, John Kufour.

“An audience with His Excellency   the former President of Ghana  Mr. John A. Kufour was a game changer for me, a humble man, humanitarian, so in touch with the challenges faced by Ghana and Africa as a whole! May he live long to see the realization of the Africa he once aspired for,” writes Mwafulirwa.

Sharing the same sentiments to support Malawian women in their socioeconomic endeavors earlier this week, the member of Parliament for Lilongwe Mapuyu South, Honourable Esther Kathumba said given all the necessary support women can greatly contribute to the country’s socioeconomic growth in the quest to achieve the best in line with Malawi Vision2063.

“We have seen all the women in higher positions performing wonders, look at the Speaker of Parliament, Police Inspector General, the SPC and the Director of the Anti-Corruption Bureau and here is Mwafulirwa now, Malawi has women of substance who can raise the national flag on the global map,” said Kathumba.
