Raiply National Volleyball Championship Returns This Weekend

The Volleyball Association of Malawi (VAM) in conjunction with Raiply Malawi Limited have announced the program for this year’s games in the Raiply National Volleyball Championship starting from Friday, 11th November to Sunday the 13th November 2022.

The sponsorship package for the tournament has been maintained at K5.5 million despite some few changes which have been made to increase the excitement that goes with being outstanding in every category throughout the games.

VAM president, James Kaunda said despite a number of challenges that could possibly contributed to the postponement of this year’s championship, the wood industry company has returned with financial assistance for the national event.

“We have been in talks with Raiply Limited and confirmation has been done last week,” Kaunda said.

Confirming the return, Raiply Malawi Limited’s Public Relations Officer, Dalitso Chimwala told Malawi Daily Telegraph that all is set for this year’s championship with lots of exciting moment for family entertainment.

Volleyball still getting bigger and better

“I can confirm that we are supporting VAM to hold a national volleyball tournament at Katoto Sports Complex, Rosedale Court and Mzuzu Academy which is an annual undertaking by the company because we realize that Malawians love sports and variety is a spice of life,” Chimwala said

Chimwala further stated that the sponsorship is aimed at giving volleyball lovers a chance to play in a competitive manner and spectators a chance to watch a display of skills and character which is something that makes Raiply Malawi Limited proud being a corporate citizen, who like to be associated with what the citizenry is doing.

However, Chimwala could not hide that since October, Raiply have suffered some damage caused by fire but with minimal complete loss owing it to the strategy which the Forest operations Department with support from management have adopted.

“Fire can be a friend but it causes us sleepless nights, because the whole plantation can be wiped out with just one matchstick, every Malawian should therefore be conscious of this and make efforts to control such threats,” he said

Let’s conserve Chikangawa forest

In conclusion the Raiply Malawi Limited’s publicist reminded the Volleyball fraternity and the nation as a whole regardless of one’s age or gender that forest reserves are where water sources are stressing out that without water there will be no life.

The last year’s Raiply National Volleyball Championship edition’s voted best online publication, the Malawi Daily Telegraph has established that this year alone; 191.4 hectares suffered fire damage while 34.7 hectares is a total loss, fortunately 156.7 hectares were not crown fires, so there will be recoveries.
