Zikhale Sacrifices March Salary Towards Cyclone Freddy Victims

Deeply touched with those in holding camps the Homeland Security minister, Ken Zikhale Ng’oma has pledged to donate his March salary to survivors of the mudslide caused by Tropical Cyclone Freddy in Chilobwe, Blantyre

Zikhale Ng’oma who was once a resident of Zingwangwa Township donated the money to the survivors through group village head Chilobwe during a brief presentation ceremony held at Naotcha Primary School where scores of survivors have encamped.

Visibly deeply touched Zikhale said he decided to donate the salary as a sign of appreciation to the traditional leaders and the community for their efforts in rescuing survivors and burying those who died in the disaster.

Zikhale Ng’oma also gave a token of appreciation to grave diggers who prepared 28 graves in a space of three days.

In his speech village head Chilobwe thanked the minister for the kind gesture and appealed to other welwishers to assist in this time of great need.
