Mighty Mukuru Wanderers FC Head Coach, Mark Harrison has described the 2-1 loss to FCB Nyasa Big Bullets FC in the Charity Shield on Sunday as grossly disappointing and unacceptable.

Harrison’s remarks comes in the work of Wanderers dismal performance in Sunday’s game in which his charges could not coordinate and put acts together hence conceding what looks to be avoidable goals.

Speaking during the post match press briefing at Bingu National Stadium, Harrison bemoaned laxity amongst his charges describing the teams performance as lucklaster and unacceptable.

“our performance was disappointing, we were second on the ball and we didn’t show the hunger to win the game unlike our opponents. It was a lackluster performance” Harrison said.

Asked if the Nomads family should be worried ahead of the new season, the English tactician was quick not to throw in the towel.

“We are in the middle of rebuilding process. Our players have great potential to deliver. Today was just one of those days in football. I have watched them in training and I have been with them during friendly games. I will be talking to them so that they get over this result and focus on our Sunday encounter against Civil Service United FC in our super league opener” remarked the Nomads’ Gaffer.

Chipping in the Assistant Coach; Albert Mpinganjira said all is not lost as the Club is now focusing on the league kicking off in seven days.

“The Charity Shield was a preparatory match, we haven’t lost points and we haven’t lost money, we have gained some learning points and some experiences as well, we are going to work on areas that need attention on” said Mpinganjira

The Nomads went down 2-1 to their cross town bitter rivals Nyasa Big Bullets FC with Maxwell Phodo giving Bullets an early lead before Stanley Billiat doubled it in the second half while Wanderers’ Misheck Botomani pulled one back in the late stages of the game.

The Lali Lubani Boys start this year’s TNM Super league campaign with a home match against the capital city fading giants, Civil Service United on Sunday at Kamuzu Stadium in Blantyre.
