IMF Team To Stock Malawi For Extended Credit Facility
International Monetary Fund officials are expected to be in the country for the IMF In-person mission from 12th to 19th September 2023 in Lilongwe.
Malawi’s Minister of Finance Sosten Gwengwe has confirmed the Development to our reporter saying “among others the IMF team will take stock of progress towards building a track record for an Extended Credit Facility”.
The mission will also hold discussions on the second review of Malawi’s staff monitored program with executive board involvement approved in November 2022.
The minister has since expressed hope that Malawi has built enough track record with the Rapid Credit Facility to transition to an Extended Credit Facility.
