LEMKO Supports Illovo Dwangwa Sugar Estate Communities

LEMKO General Supplies Limited is one of the companies that supported the 2023 Tour de Dwangwa Cycling Race which went into a 4-year hibernation due to COVID-19 and Cholera scourges but returned last Sunday.

The event reached its climax in terms of excitement right from the starting point at Kande in Nkhatabay District to the finishing point at Chitowe in Dwangwa the epicentre of commerce in Nkhotakota District where thousands jam-packed the stadium.

It was a thrilling experience for the participants and spectators alike seeing enthusiasts who crowded both sides of the M5-Road giving support to cycling men and women who competed in the 80-kilometre race.

According to LEMKO General Supplies Limited’s branch manager Charles Banda, his company’s involvement demonstrates solidarity with a business partner Illovo Dwangwa Sugar Estates towards community engagement and promoting healthy activities.

“We are also here in Dwangwa apart from Dedza and Lilongwe where we operate, working with Illovo gives us another platform for community engagement, our partner brings together very huge business partners,” Banda said.

The good stories about LEMKO General Supplies Limited are not only associated with sports having also played a pivotal role in assisting victims affected by Cyclone Freddy and cholera in various districts, including Nkhatabay.
