“This was indeed a great day, over 200 people at least can now afford a smile, even the chiefs were present and could not hide their happiness. It was indeed a wonderful time to be remembered by our sons and daughters overseas,” said Apostle Chodzeka.

He also disclosed that other partners who graced the clothing distribution exercise include; the Living Waters Church and Carvery Family Church radios.

In a telephone interview from his base in Manchester City the founder of the Malawi Heritage-UK Allan Mandindi said early this year Apostle Chodzeka visited the United Kingdom where he appealed for humanitarian stance towards the Cyclone Freddy devastated households.

Mandindi said it has always pleased the Heritage to come forward and assist towards alleviating human suffering hence swiftly responding to the call for urgent assistance towards the Cyclone Freddy victims.

“As you are aware, the diaspora more particularly our Heritage plays a crucial role in times of crisis, we can easily mobilize resources to support our brothers and sisters in our native country,” Mandindi said.

Mandindi also took an opportunity to thank all Malawians in Manchester City for responding to the call to donate relief items adding that the Heritage will continue working with various partners to support in time of need.
