Mpira Mmudzi Mwathu Coax 250 Kids At Launch

A total of 250 kids within the age of 3-16 years were drilled in football skills during the launch of Mpira mmudzi Mwathu at Hilltop Foundation School in Mzuzu City on Saturday.

Renowned footballers Russel Mwafulirwa, Chimango ‘Blackberry’ Kaira, Linda Kasenda, and Scolastica Khunga and several others provided lessons to a multitude of enthusiastic kids.

Chief Executive officer for Mpira Mmudzi Mwathu, Patirck Chimimba expressed satisfaction of with the overwhelming response Mzuzu parents have shown by bringing their children within the specified launching schedule.

“We are overwhelmed with Mzuzu’s response, patents have brought these kids within the specified schedule which is a clear demonstration of commitment. And imagine, out of the 250 kids who are here 50 are girls” Chimimba said.

Soccer legends Russel Mwafulirwa and Chimango ‘Blackberry’ Kayira appealed to parents in Mzuzu City and surrounding areas to take advantage of the Mpira Mmudzi Mwathu initiatives if their children are to be nurture into desirable citizens.

“This is a rare opportunity that needs to be utilised, this soccer school will nurture talent among these children who will be exposed into something big in the near future,” said Kayira.

Meanwhile, Mpira Mmudzi Mwathu has employed a total of eight (8) well-trained technical and administrative staff to assist the kids in various areas of human development at the Mzuzu football school of excellence.

The programme will also be providing starters in football coaching with a platform for development through the two streamstoch will be the paying school model and the bursary one in line with Mpira Mmudzi Mwathu’s theme “Leaving no one behind”.

To ensure coexistence and exclusivity among boys and girls the learners will be exposed to career talk and guidance in addition to the Saturday morning football lessons.
