Nankhumwa Warns Against Tampering With DPP List Of Voters

The leader of the opposition in parliament, Kondwani Nankhumwa, who is also the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) presidential hopeful, has warned the Peter Mutharika faction of the party against tampering with delegates to the convention.

In a briefing statement made at his Luchenza Township residence in Thyolo district on Tuesday, Nankhumwa said: “Should that faction continue with the plot, i will take the matter to court.”

He has also advised party ranks at district and constituency levels to maintain the list of delegates at the party’s last convention in 2018.

Efforts to seek views from the Mutharika’s faction on the matter proved futile since the mobile phone for the party Spokesperson, Shadreck Namalomba could not be reached.

However, some political advisors have on several occasions argued that since the party held its elective convention a lot has happened with some members defecting to other political parties while some have died hence the need to replace them with other party loyalists.
