Malawian boxer, Hannock the Hardknocker Phiri, has been handed a humiliative defeat in his World Boxing Council (WBC) light welterweight title campaig to Jangokhir Rasulov of Uzbekistan.

For the past three years, Phiri has not lost to any boxer locally giving his followers and the nation as a whole all the hopes of doing well in Uzbekistan but only to go down in round three, losing unanimously on technical knockout.

Straight from defeat to Rasulov Phiri is expected to return to the ring on 28th next month against South Africa-based compatriot, Dennis ‘The Menace’ Mwale in one of the fierce domestic bouts in boxing history organized by Kamuzu University of Health Sciences-KUHES in Blantyre.
