Malawi UK Military Community Condole King Charles On Her Majesty Queen’s Passing

At this Historical moment following the passing of Queen Elizabeth II and the ushering in of the new era of King Charles III, the Malawi UK Military Community (MUMCo) joins the rest of the Commonwealth community in acknowledging Her Majesty’s magnificent service to the Commonwealth, the UK and the UK Armed Forces, as MUMCo is part of all three.

The Queen had a long and close relationship with the Armed Forces, both in the United Kingdom and in the Commonwealth.

Having herself served with the Auxiliary Territorial Service and dedicating the rest of her life as the British Monarch. MUMCo feels very much connected in this service as members serve or would have served in the United Kingdom Armed Forces as well as being from Malawi, a Commonwealth nation.

It is in this reflective spirit of connectedness that we wish to convey our deepest sympathy and condolence to the new King and the Royal Family as they mourn the passing of Her Majesty.

We also wish to convey our heartfelt best regards to King Charles III as He takes on the mantle.

After the state funeral, the coffin will be taken to Windsor, about 20 miles (32 kilometers) west of London.

The queen will be laid to rest in the King George VI Memorial Chapel, within St. George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle, where her mother and father were interred and her sister Princess Margaret’s ashes were placed.

The MUMCo’d Communications Director, Eve Nyirenda says the whole military community is deeply saddened by the passing of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.

“We acknowledge Her Majesty’s great service to the UK, the Commonwealth and the UK Armed Forces. Thoughts and condolences from us all at MUMCo are with The Royal Family at this time,” Nyirenda said.

Prince Philip’s coffin, which is currently in St. George’s Chapel’s Royal Vault, is expected to be moved to the memorial chapel to join the queen’s.

St. George’s is where many of Britain’s royals were baptized, married and buried throughout history and it has long been the resting place for the royals, and 10 former sovereigns were buried
